Warm greetings from Puerto Plata! We hope this newsletter finds you in good health and high spirits. We wanted to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude for your support and generosity in aiding our children as they embarked on their new school year. Our students returned to school on August 28th, and thanks to your support, we were able to provide school supplies and uniforms to all 138 students. Your help is invaluable and deeply appreciated, as it enables us to ensure that these children have the resources they need to thrive in their education. With the start of the new school year, we have opened our doors once again after a summer break, our children couldn't be more excited to return to Dove. We have missed their beautiful faces and big smiles, and it's incredible to see how much they've grown in just a few short weeks. As we move forward, we are diligently working to accommodate any schedule changes necessary to ensure our children's seamless transition between school and Dove programs.
Here's a glimpse of what's happening at Dove this month: Mini Doves (6-12 years): Teacher Teresa is leading our youngest members in team-building activities. They are also learning animal names in English and expressing their creativity by making their own farms in arts and crafts. Job Readiness Program (13-18 years): Our students are eagerly presenting their individual goals for the upcoming school year. Their teacher Nemesis says “its inspiring to witness their determination and ambition”. Vocational Training Center: The youth in our vocational training program will be introduced to "Salesforce" in their computer class, led by Teacher Regis. This valuable skill will prepare them for future career opportunities.
Additionally, we are in the early stages of planning a Dove Theater Production for Christmas, and our students are brimming with excitement about showcasing their talents. We can't wait to witness their creativity shine on stage. Once again, we extend our heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you for your continued help and support. None of our achievements would be possible without your unwavering dedication to our cause. Together, we are making a positive difference in the lives of these incredible young individuals.
